  • 18th-Century Gilt-Bronze Nepali Amitābha Buddha

    Material: Gilded Copper

    Dimensions: Approximately 40cm tall

This Amitābha Buddha statue is meticulously hand-cast in red copper with selective gilding, crafted by Nepali artisans following Tibetan Buddhist traditions. It dates from approximately 200 to 350 years ago. The Buddha’s serene and compassionate expression, harmoniously proportioned features, and dignified iconography reflect exceptional artistry and profound religious devotion.

The figure is draped in a flowing monastic robe, with finely detailed straps and naturalistic folds that convey a strong sense of three-dimensionality and movement. The warm, delicate texture of the red copper, along with areas of gilding worn by time and characteristic verdigris, highlights the statue’s age and adds a quietly majestic charm.

The base is reinforced with a metal plate, hammered and riveted—a precise modification made by a later foreign collector. Originally, the statue would have formed part of a complete ensemble, including a lotus pedestal, stūpa-shaped base, halo, and ceremonial umbrella atop the head, symbolizing Amitābha Buddha’s boundless light and compassionate guidance toward the Western Pure Land.

Nepali red-copper Buddha statues have long been treasured in Tibetan Buddhism for their solid, warm-toned material and exquisite craftsmanship. This finely made Amitābha Buddha is a rare and enduring devotional figure of significant artistic and spiritual value.

  • Hetian Jade “Turning Monkey”

    Material: Jade

    Dimensions: 2.8 x 2.3 x 4.8 cm

This exquisite carving of a Turning Monkey is made of fine Hetian jade, prized for its smooth, warm texture and gentle, understated luster—hallmarks of jade from the early Ming period. The monkey is shown turning its head back, with natural and fluid movement. The rounded, elegant lines balance realism and decorative beauty, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship of the time.

  • Antique Jade Tiger Handheld

    Material: Jade

    Size: 10x1.8x2.2cm

Hetian white jade is a precious gemstone with a long and distinguished history, celebrated for its fine texture and gentle, lustrous sheen.

It is traditionally believed to dispel negative energy and safeguard peace and good fortune. The stone is said to balance the body’s yin and yang, regulate vital energy and blood circulation, nourish the heart and lungs, and strengthen the immune system. Compared to the cool, translucent beauty of jadeite, Hetian jade is known for its warmth and vitality — when held, it feels soothing rather than cold, making it suitable even for those with a delicate constitution.

This piece is carved in an elegant curved form, hewn from a large block of jade with remarkable craftsmanship and substance. The jade bears a time-worn patina of ancient simplicity and grace, and is estimated to be at least 350 years old.

Since antiquity, jade has been revered as a spiritual and protective stone — a talisman that wards off evil, harmonizes energy, and attracts auspicious blessings to its wearer. The tiger motif further symbolizes strength, courage, and the power to overcome adversity.

This particular piece has received the compassionate blessing of Grandmaster Jin Bodhi, bestowing upon the bearer peace, protection, and good fortune. It is believed to dispel obstacles and negative influences, enhance confidence and vitality, and bring serenity, wisdom, and spiritual fulfillment.

This finely cast gilt-bronze seal is of substantial weight and lustrous patina, exuding an air of solidity and refinement. The form is square and well-proportioned, surmounted by a mythical beast finial modeled in the traditional auspicious and protective style.

The double-headed beast is shown recumbent, with bulging eyes, rounded snout, and open jaws revealing sharp teeth, conveying strength and vigilance. Its musculature is full and powerful, the posture commanding and dignified. Flowing manes fall neatly along the nape, while the sides of the spine are adorned with delicately rendered spiral curls—details that bring the creature vividly to life. The overall modeling captures a harmonious balance between motion and stillness.

The seal face is incised in zhuanshu (seal script) Tibetan characters. Based on its form and stylistic features, the piece may be identified as a Tibetan Buddhist–style seal.
