The Earth Store (Ksitigarbha) Bodhisattva symbolizes the steadiness, vastness, and depth of a secret treasure trove within earth. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's great wish is widely known: "Until the hells are empty (of suffering beings), I will not become a Buddha." 

Together with Guanyin (Avalokitesvara), Manjushri, and Samantabhadra, Ksitigarbha is honored as one of the "Four Great Bodhisattvas" of Buddhism. He rides a mythical animal, characterized by tiger head, rhino horn, dog ears, dragon body, lion tail, and unicorn feet, called 'Good Listening' in Chinese mythology. It is said that it can distinguish between good and evil, and is regarded as a symbol of auspiciousness.

As the Earth Store Bodhisattva vowed to save all sentient beings in hell and the three evil realms, people often pray for the Earth Store Bodhisattva's blessings for deceased spirits. In the Earth Store Bodhisattva's Sutra, Buddha states that if a kind person sincerely takes refuge, praises, pays homage to, worships or makes offerings to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, then all their wishes will come true.

May this "Eliminate Disasters" Earth Store Bodhisattva statue dispel evil and resentful spirits; liberate the deceased; protect and bless the home and land; and benefit infinite future generations!
